Sixth Form
At South Nottinghamshire Academy, we offer all our students an outstanding sixth form education characterised by academic excellence, outstanding learning experiences and extensive enrichment opportunities. High expectations combined with the dedicated support of specialist tutors, teachers and careers advisers ensure that students, whatever their individual needs, can develop self-confidence, fulfil their potential and realise their aspirations. Students leave us ready to assume their responsibilities as young adults and prepared to embrace further exciting opportunities.
Students in the sixth form are mature and focussed. They act as role models for younger pupils.

This Sixth Form offers you many opportunities to develop useful skills. For example, leadership roles such as Charity Ambassador and Gold Duke of Edinburgh.

I like the flexibility around how you use free periods alongside the structure of lessons.

What we really like about this Sixth form is the freedom that allows us to feel like adults. There are so many opportunities here, and I have been given so much support in improving my study habits. Staff really care about personal development and the well-being of students.

Our students recently represented the school at the Trust Handball competition, taking 38 students across four teams. All four teams went unbeaten in their morning fixtures and successfully qualified for the semi-finals – an outstanding achievement. Our Year 7/8 Girls secured an excellent third-place finish overall in their very first handball competition. The Year 9/10 Boys narrowly missed out on the title, finishing as runners-up after a one-goal defeat in the final. The Year 7/8 Boys produced a fantastic performance to become Trust Champions, while the Year 9/10 Girls finished their competition in style by also being crowned Trust Champions. Mr Duffy would like to thank all students for representing the school so brilliantly and for their continued commitment to handball throughout the year so far. @Head_SNA #TheSNAWAY
