Governors

The Local Governing Body provides strategic direction for South Nottinghamshire Academy and helps drive improvements in standards, by:

• Setting targets
• Setting policies to achieve the targets
• Monitoring results

Much of the work is carried out directly during the Governors' meetings.

Each Governor is linked to a member of the Senior Leadership Team and termly meetings take place to review areas such as Safeguarding, Curriculum and Data, Teaching and Learning and Sixth Form.

In addition, work concerned with the Academy's finances, staffing and premises is conducted by the Governors' Business Committee. 

Each year we elect a Chair and Vice Chair of the Local Governing Body. They are supported in their work by a Clerk to the Governors who advises on points of procedure and law and minutes meetings. The Local Governing Board is made up by:

•  Parent Governors elected by parents;
•  Staff Governors elected by staff; and
•  Co-opted Governors appointed by the Governing Body.
