A Day in the Life of a Sixth Form Student

7:00 - I wake up, take a shower and remember I have a free first period, so I take a slow walk up to school and grab a costa coffee on the way.

8:15 - Around this time I’ll get to school and sign in, meet my friend in the common room and work on a past paper together. My favourite playlist always makes this a little more bearable.

9:25 - My first lesson of the day is physics, which makes me cringe a little. We end up doing a practical using different forms of radiation!

10:25 - Normally it would be tutor time now, but I head for my student council meeting. Today we discussed the planning of the May Ball for year 13 leavers, and different changes we could make around the school to improve our sixth form.

10:50 - BREAK TIME! I get my usual from my favourite dinner lady (sausage cob and a tropical juice, obviously) and chat to my friends about their lessons. We ended up playing a game of hangman on the whiteboard with another table.

11:10 - Now I have my last lesson of the day. Only having two periods makes life seem SO amazing.

12:10 - HOME TIME! I go home and grab a bite to eat, before getting in my car and heading to the gym. I love having time in the day out of school as it means I miss the busy after-school rush.

2:00 - I get home, get changed and get started on some homework. This is made so much easier by blasting music from my speaker.

5:00 onwards – DOWNTIME ! Today I watched one of my favourite films, “10 things I hate about you." It never fails to make me laugh. Later, I have a scheduled lecture run by the HE+ scheme to watch. This time, I picked computer science! But generally, when I use my free periods within the day, it gives me my evenings off. Such a relief.
