Post-Result Services

Following the issue of exam results, there are a number of Post-Results Services available from each of the awarding bodies.  The main services are:

Access to Scripts – this provides candidates with a copy of their exam script.  These can be utilised by the school for future teaching and learning purposes (with the candidate’s permission) and can also be useful to candidates in making a decision whether to request a review of marking.

Review of Marking – if candidates think an error may have been made with their grade, they can request a review of marking.  There is a cost associated with this.  In a review of marking, awarding bodies will review their marking to ensure work was marked accurately in line with the mark scheme. The final grade awarded may be lower than, higher than, or the same as the grade originally awarded.

Candidates must give permission in writing before school can pursue any service on their behalf.  Hard copies are available from school, where students can also discuss their options with teachers and the exams team.  A link to the relevant forms can be found at the bottom of this page.

Students must use their school e-mail account in any electronic communications about these matters and check this account regularly in case school need to contact them; email accounts will remain open for this purpose.  Permission must come directly from students.
