Work Experience
As part of the Careers Education and Guidance programme at South Nottinghamshire Academy, all Year 12 students are expected to take part in a compulsory work experience programme with an employer. The aim is to help you gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the world of work and all that it entails, whilst developing essential skills, which are transferrable to apprenticeships, university and other wider experiences.
The following documents will help parents, carers and employers understand the SNA work experience programme. Each year, our Careers Practioner, Mrs Caunt, sources a directory of placements for students to consider, but please be aware that own placements can be onboarded.
Employers must confirm that they have Employers' Liability Insurance or be willing to obtain it. They must also be Health and Safety checked before the placement can go ahead.
It is a mandatory requirement for Year 12 students to actively search for a Work Experience placement as soon as possible or access a placement from the school Directory.
