A Level Exam Performance

Sixth Form students at South Nottinghamshire Academy have been celebrating their success after receiving their A-level results today.

Mrs Cox, Head of Sixth Form commented ‘students and staff have worked extremely hard to secure some of their academy’s most outstanding results - it is so pleasing to see students gain their places at prestigious universities or progress to their destination of choice in employment or training’.

Abbie Bray (pictured left) gained 3 A’s in English Literature, Media Studies and Sociology and will be studying English Literature and American Studies at the University of Manchester

Also, Molly McGarry (pictured right) achieved A* in English Literature, A in Art and B in Spanish and has achieved her first choice place at the University of Lincoln, studying Animation and Visual Effects.

 

Other students securing impressive results were Toby Phipps and Rosie Castledine both achieving ABB and successfully gaining places at Warwick University to study English Literature / History and Cardiff University to study Ancient History respectively.

Overall 82% of students gained A*-C grades and 64% gained A*-B grades. Over half of all students secured the top A*-B grades: English Literature, History, Art, Media and Sociology.

Dan Philpotts (Headteacher) commented that “this group of students have been a pleasure to work with and it is extremely pleasing to see them being rewarded for their hard work and commitment to their learning. We wish them continued success for their future”.
